Pitchi Reddy Educational & Welfare Society

This one year project will provide handloom weaving training for 30 poor women in Rangapuram village, Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. The trainees include 11 widows, 3 divorcees, 3 separated, 8 extremely poor, 5 adolescent orphans. After training, the women will work under a master weaver to produce and market products such as sarees, sweaters, cushion covers, bath mats, rugs etc. 50% of the income will be kept as seed money to train new women on a self-sustaining basis.
