Tree plantation to reduce carbon emissions
This two year project, aims for tree plantation that would lead to greener atmosphere in three villages in Duglapura cluster, Tarikere. They will be planting 2500 agro-horticulture plants (such as sapota, mango, lemon, and jack fruit), 3000 agro-forestry plants (such as teak, neem, and silver oak) and about 50 varieties of herbal medicinal plants. Majority of plantings will be on 75 acres of 100 farmer private lands, while some will also be on about 8 acres of common land. VIKASANA has just successfully completed "Sustainable Agriculture" project. This new project complements their good work to date. They are also raising Rs. 15,900 through local contributions.
