Karnatak Health Institute

This project in the village of Balobal, Belgaum District, Karnataka, India consists of:
- Immunization and health care through health camps (visiting doctors and nurses)
and trained village health workers.
- Family planning, nutrition education and sewing classes for women. Day care
and free lunch program for children.
- Milk Dairy Scheme: Capital for five buffaloes on (an interest free loan).
Beneficiaries repay the loan by using one milking for sale and one for their own
use. The collected amount is used to provide buffaloes to others to continue the
dairy scheme.
