| Summary: | This three-year project is to improve the lot of the Kheria Sabars, a downtrodden tribal group. MGBK is building a community center with a plan to provide education in functional literacy and health awareness and give training in marketable skills. So far they have organized five-health awareness this year for sixty Kheria Sabar Tribal people, especially mother groups in each village. Local doctors, Health Workers, School Teachers and Panchayat Representatives
have discussed on various health issues.
In the first half of the project year the school premises has been constructed involving the community people. The functional literacy center (community education center) has started from 1st October 2007. Adolescent age group 40
girls have been enrolled in the center. Teachers have been deputed from local areas. Education materials, school dresses have been provided to the target girl students. Resource persons have also conducted classes for life skill education for the girls. |
