Project title:Empowerment of Tribal Women in Difficult Circumstances through Livelihood Development

Summary:The goals of the project are to enhance sustainable livelihood development opportunities basing on the local resources and traditional skills to tribal women in difficult circumstances and empower them socio economically. The objectives of the project are: a) To provide vocational training on (i) Leaf cup plate making (ii) Sisal fiber decorative items (iii) Tailoring (iv) Weaving to 100 tribal women; b) To promote 8 Self Help Groups incorporating the trained women and provide group management training; c) To set up a marketing outlet for the trained artisans tribal women; d) To provide awareness on reproductive health care, HIV/AIDS, Malaria and TB control; The criteria of success of the project are to inculcate capacity and upgrade vocational skills among the target 100 women based on local resources and demand of the market and ensure the socio economic empowerment of tribal women in difficult circumstances.
