This project deals with vocational training for women in fishing villages of Kooduthazhai, Kootapani, Arockiapuram, Chinnamuttam and Kovalam, affected by the Tsunami in December 2004. Deprived of their traditional trade of selling fish, many women were rendered powerless. SACCER is helping them learn alternate skills like emboroidery and cloth stitching. So far, two sewing machines, one emboridery machine, one cutting table and assorted items have been delivered to each of the costal villages. SACCER is employing local sewing/embroidery teachers to train the women.
